Application Qualifications and Checklist

A student is eligible to apply for a Georgia PTA Student Scholarship if:

A graduating senior of a Georgia high school with a PTA/PTSA (in good standing)
Student and/or parent/guardian is a current member of PTA/PTSA.
Will attend a college, university, or trade/vocational school during the upcoming school year.
Has exhibited good character.
Has a satisfactory scholastic record. Grade point 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Has NOT received a full scholarship(s) college, university, or trade/vocational school.
Is NOT related to a member of the Georgia PTA Board of Directors nor an appointed Specialist or Consultant.

Checklist: Completed and signed where needed by applicant and parent/guardian.

Two (2) letters of recommendations from an adult that is not a relative
Essay, answer these questions in at least two (2) paragraphs
What is your proposed field of study?
Why have you chosen this career field?
Judge(s) will consider the following criteria in selecting winners: extra-curricular activities, honors and awards, references, essay, and following instructions.
Disbursement of Scholarship Funds Disclaimer-included in application form (Signed by parent/guardian)
Student Applicant and/or parent/guardian is a current PTA/PTSA member.

The number and amount of each scholarship is determined by donations.

Application for Disbursement of Scholarship Funds Disclaimer

I acknowledge and understand that the scholarship award received by the winners will be a lump sum check paid directly to the scholarship recipient.
Scholarship awards will be issued upon proof of enrollment. Awards not claimed by September 1, 2021 will be forfeited. No exceptions.

I recognize and accept these conditions for the disbursement of any scholarship award that my child may receive.
