This event is the largest training forum for our membership focusing on core educational and leadership opportunities for both the new and experienced PTA leader. Georgia PTA Convention Leadership Training is attended by over 400+ PTA leaders from across the state—leaders, who engage their communities, connect with their school boards and elected officials, and motivate members to work on behalf of all children. Georgia PTA is looking to build a program of workshops that feature training for officer positions, leadership skills, as well as priority programming areas such as family engagement, health & wellness, advocacy, diversity & inclusion, membership, and Reflections.
The purpose of this Call for Presenters is to solicit proposals for workshops for the Georgia Parent Teacher Association (PTA) 2020 State Convention Leadership Training June 5-6, 2020 taking place at Wheeler High School, Marietta, Georgia. This “call” requires workshop course title and description for 55-minute workshops and a speaker biography.
We encourage all presenters to develop and submit original, creative, thought-provoking workshop topics that will be of value to PTA leaders of all levels. Each workshop application submitted will be considered but is not guaranteed. Georgia PTA Presenters contribute their services in a volunteer capacity. Georgia PTA will not pay outside presenters or reimburse travel expenses.
Each 55-minute workshop should include core content that is highly interactive and engaging. Each workshop submission must include the following:
• Workshop Title (no more than 10 words)
• Learning Objectives

Handouts will be copied for each presenter by the Georgia PTA staff and volunteers at the state office and provided to presenters by their facilitator prior to their workshop. Both of these tasks will be done weeks in advance of Convention Leadership Training; therefore they MUST be submitted to Georgia PTA by May 1, 2020.
If workshop materials are not submitted by May 1, 2020 the workshop presenter may be notified by Georgia PTA that their workshop is canceled or replaced.
