National PTA Delegates Approved Dues Increase - Effective July 1, 2011
On June 11, 2011 National PTA convention delegates approved a fifty cents ($.50) increase to National PTA's portion of the membership fee, from $1.75 to $2.25 per member. This increase is effective July 1, 2011 and is the first since 2001. Since the last National dues increase 10 years ago, operating costs and the increased need for services and resources have far exceeded cost cutting measures and the ability to keep up with rising costs. The value-added benefits of the dues increase as it relates to all local units will be posted on pta.org and georgiapta.org in the coming days.
