Georgia PTA Nominating Committee is pleased to present the following

Personal
Information: Donna and her husband Bob and their three
children, Jamie, Robert and Lillian live in Cherokee County. Working
in PTA for more than eleven years, Donna has held officer and chair
positions at the local, council, district and state level. She currently
serves as 2nd Vice President, and serves on the Executive, Field
Service, Legislative, Parent Involvement and Strategic Planning
Committees and serves on the Georgia Parental Information and Resource
Center Board. She works with PTA leadership, parents, school staff,
and statewide community partners focusing on effective engagement,
and its critical role in the education and development of children
and youth. Building strong partnerships and a strong foundation
for academic success continues to be her main focus for every child
in Georgia.

P. Perrino, Sr. - Nominee for 1st Vice President
Personal
Information: Larry and his wife Sandra have four children
Larry
II, Lacey, Louis and Lawrence. Larry has been an active member in
Georgia PTA/PTSA for over 20 years. He retired from the State of
Georgia Probation Office in January, 2009. He is a certified law
enforcement general and firearms instructor and a certified American
Red Cross Water Safety and CPR instructor. He holds a BS degree
in Psychology with a minor in Business. He has excellent leadership
skills with a good knowledge of PTA principles and policies. He
is an advocate for all children in keeping with the mission of Georgia
PTA and enjoys fishing, football, baseball, reading, and traveling.
He lives in Fulton County .

Hallacy - Nominee

Personal
Information: Karen and her husband, Don, have three children,
Christopher, a college freshman at Caltech, Andrew, a sophomore
at Walton High School and Nikki, a seventh grader at Dodgen Middle
School in Cobb County. She has been active in PTA at the local,
council and State level building experience through involvement
in a variety of PTA leadership positions and committees. Karen is
also involved in her community serving on the Neighborhood Safety
Commission, the East Cobb Civic Association, various school district
committees, SPLOST initiatives and school advisory councils/school
councils. Her experiences have served to develop and strengthen
Karen's commitment to PTA: to advocate for every child at the local,
state and national levels.

Perez-Knapp - Nominee for Secretary
Personal
Information: Elida and her husband Bob have lived in the
Atlanta area for ten years. They have a blended family of five adult
children and several grandchildren. Elida has a deep commitment
to share PTA's vision and mission with the Latino community. She
addresses parent groups throughout Metro Atlanta providing information
on the importance of participation in their child's education. She
also provides trainings to educators on Latino culture and beliefs,
which is critical to successful outreach to the Latino
community. Elida collaborates with educators, community organizations
and families in order to accomplish her goals.

Carolyn
Briner - Nominee for Treasurer
Personal
Information: Carolyn and husband Joe have four daughters.
Alexandra will be joining the class of 2013 at the University of
Georgia this fall, while Samantha continues at Chattahoochee High
School, Kathleen at Taylor Road Middle School, and Sydney at Ocee
Elementary. Carolyn has been an active PTA member since moving to
Georgia in 2000 and has served in numerous leadership positions.
Carolyn's professional experience and education make her a solid
candidate for treasurer. Prior to moving to Georgia she was a commercial
banker with KeyBank in Cleveland , Ohio and she holds a MBA from
Case Western Reserve University . Carolyn strongly believes in the
mission and purposes of Georgia PTA and credits PTA with making
her a more informed and engaged parent.
