General Information

The 95th Georgia PTA Convention and Leadership Training will be held on July 10-11, 2009. All Convention and Leadership Training activities will take place at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, Georgia 30337.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND CLT?

Only once a year, your PTA has the opportunity to directly affect the business of Georgia PTA, energize your leaders, hear top-notch presentations, obtain excellent training, network with leaders and peers from across the state, and have fun.

 

Convention and Leadership Training is an investment in the future leadership and success of your PTA.  We recognize that time and money are scarce, but we must invest in ourselves to develop our potential in order that PTA can ensure a better future for all children.

Register by June 19 to receive the Advance Registration rate.  Save time in the registration line. You will receive additional information that will help you plan your trip, pack your suitcase, and make your Convention and Leadership Training experience the best it can be. You will return home with new ideas, improved skills and recharged energy.

  • Mail in – Register by June 19 and take advantage of the Advance Registration rate
  • On line – for those who choose to use their personal credit card
  • On site – Register after June 19 or upon arrival at the Georgia International Convention Center.

CONVENTION/LEADERSHIP TRAINING HOTEL

PARKING AT THE GICC

Parking at the GICC is included in the registration fee. You will have "in and out" privileges on Friday and Saturday.  Click here for directions to the GICC.

ATTIRE

Casual/business attire is the call for the day. The GICC is a large facility and requires extensive walking so wear comfortable shoes. The conference center will be well air conditioned so be sure to bring a sweater, sweatshirt or jacket.

 

PTA MART

Plan to shop at the PTA Mart for a complete line of the latest PTA /PTSA merchandise and supplies for your local unit. Present a professional look with our exclusive merchandise. Many PTA supplies may be an approved budget item and are reimbursable. We accept cash, personal and PTA checks with two signatures and proper identification.

  •  Friday, 9:00 am – 8:00 pm
  •  Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

EXHIBITOR HOURS

  • Friday, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Friday, Great Ideas Fair and Exhibitor Showcase, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

 

MEMBERSHIP CARD DISTRIBUTION

Membership Card Distribution will be available during the registration hours on both Friday and Saturday inside Exhibit Hall A. President or authorized designee, as noted on the registration form, may pick up the cards.

  • Friday, 9:00 am – 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:45 pm – 3:00 pm during the your district meetings

KEYS TO LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Georgia PTA 's Keys to Leadership Success recognizes PTA members for their commitment to developing leadership skills. Become a more effective volunteer while building both your knowledge and leadership skills. Fulfill the mandatory training requirements, attend key PTA events, and choose from a variety of personal leadership skills training, such as public speaking, team building and conflict resolution.

 

Receive a Keys to Leadership Success Passport at Convention Leadership Training to record your completed requirements. You have two years to complete the requirements, beginning with your first attended event. Click here for more details.

 

Once you have completed the key requirements, make a copy for your passport and mail to the state office no later than 30 days prior to Convention/Leadership Training. Receive a specially designed pin from Georgia PTA and unlock your full potential!
