FIRST TIMERS’ ORIENTATION
First time attendees have an opportunity to learn about events, programs, and the basics of parliamentary procedures necessary for a fun and productive experience. Join Sheila Cornelius, President, and meet other first timers from around the state.
GEORGIA PTA YOUTH INSTITUTE 2010
A one day conference for rising 9th-12th graders. Three workshops on Saturday explore post secondary education options through GAcollege411, learn how to be effective advocates in their school and community, and voice their concerns on today’s current legislation landscape and its impact on their future. J. Tom Morgan, guest speaker. Lunch included in registration fee.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS TOWN HALL FORUM
Join National PTA Policy Analyst, Jim Vanderhook, and other health and wellness advocacy experts in an interactive discussion of issues ranging from school lunch, school based health centers, green schools, school gardens, physical education, wellness policies, the new “Let’s Move” initiative, legislation, and more.
MEALS
- Banquet – The festivities begin with a gourmet buffet. Awards for outstanding educators, school nurses, local units and councils are presented. No registration fee is required if you are attending only the banquet. Keynote speakers, President Sheila Cornelius, Georgia PTA, 2009-2011, and Byron Garrett, National PTA CEO.
- Friday Lunch and Mingle – Come to the exhibit hall for a lunch buffet and network with PTA leaders throughout the state. Start up a conversation with Table Topics or local unit achievements. After lunch, chat with exhibitors to discover products and services for your PTA and school needs.
- Saturday Lunch and Learn – Lunch buffet. Guest Speaker, Byron Garrett, National PTA CEO.
- Friday and Saturday lunch buffet tickets available, $10.00 each. Lunch ticket purchase not required to join activities.
PICTURE PERFECT PTA
Gather your friends and visit the photo booth. Show your PTA spirit, display your awards, and capture the magical moments of PTA. Bring your camera or purchase a disposable camera at the Mart. Smile!
RAFFLE
Fabulous gift items and gift certificates will be available for your bidding. All proceeds donated to the scholarship fund.
S-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g TO START THE DAY
Start the day with gentle stretching and relaxation techniques, Saturday 8:00 am. Followed by Grab–N–Go Breakfast.
